Samhain blessings, dear ones! ✨
In many cultures, the thinning of the veil coincides with a festival day to remember passed loved ones, ancestors, and honor the gods of the underworld. You see this in Christian faiths with All Souls' Day, in Mexican tradition with Día de Los Muertos, in Celtic tradition with Samhain, and many others.
It's no surprise that the veil thinning coincides with this time of year, where death is so present as the leaves change and winter begins (it's snowing as I write this!) - another reason to consider the interconnectedness of all things, the web that keeps us all tied together, as we respond to the same innate human callings that transcend tradition.
Pictured below is my offering to my ancestors and beloved dead - some foods and spices from my family cultures in the bowl on the right, and the plate to the left is filled with water for the parched traveling spirits to stop and rest 💧 and a gray candle to recognize the liminal and non-corporeal nature of spirit.
Blessings to you during this season, dear ones! May you find comfort in honoring your beloved dead. 💕✨💀
